Entry Requirements for Vitamin B12 Injection Course

Level 3 NVQ in Beauty Therapy or equivalent recognised qualification, OR active SPMU or microneedling practice with a minimum of six months' needling experience, OR registered healthcare professional status, OR a relevant Level 3 qualification in health, wellness or nutrition with a demonstrable professional background​​

Valid Level 3 First Aid certificate First Aid at Work, Emergency First Aid, or equivalent including BLS with AED and Anaphylaxis management. This must be current and in place before your course date​​

No prior injectable aesthetic experience required B12 intramuscular injection is taught from the ground up on this course​

Minimum age of 18 years, with valid photo identification (passport or driving licence) to be presented on the day of the course​

Applicants must be in good general health with no underlying conditions that would affect their ability to safely administer or receive intramuscular injections, as declared on the pre-course medical questionnaire

What This Course Covers

1. What Is Vitamin B12 and Why Does It Matter Clinically

Role of B12 in DNA synthesis, red blood cell formation and nervous system health, and why intramuscular injection is superior to oral supplementation for clients with absorption issues (e.g. pernicious anaemia, Crohn's, long-term metformin/PPI use).

2. Cyanocobalamin vs Hydroxocobalamin - Which Product and Why

Difference between the two forms, with hydroxocobalamin as the preferred, longer-lasting product for UK aesthetic practice.

3. Indications — Who Benefits From B12 Injections

Confirmed and functional B12 deficiency symptoms (fatigue, low mood, brain fog, poor healing), key risk groups (vegans, over-50s, post-bariatric clients), and ethical communication of wellness benefits.

4. Contraindications - Who You Should Not Treat

Absolute contraindications (hypersensitivity, Leber's disease, active malignancy) and relative ones (polycythaemia, unassessed folate deficiency, pregnancy), plus key medication interactions.

5. Anatomy of Intramuscular Injection Sites

Deltoid muscle as the primary safe injection site, correct injection zone, and structures to avoid (radial nerve, brachial artery, axillary nerve).

On the Day - Course Format

One structured training day. Theory is delivered first in a sequence that builds your knowledge progressively science, anatomy, technique, consultation and safety before you move to supervised live practice in the afternoon.

Morning - Theory and Clinical Framework

B12 science, cyanocobalamin versus hydroxocobalamin, indications, contraindications, deltoid anatomy, injection technique walkthrough, dosage and frequency, consent and documentation, prescribing framework, and anaphylaxis response. Laura works through the clinical questions practitioners most commonly face when setting up B12 injection practice including prescriber arrangements, product sourcing and insurance requirements.

Afternoon - Live Practice

Supervised intramuscular B12 injections on live volunteers. Every delegate performs the full procedure preparation, site identification, injection technique and post-injection assessment under Laura's direct supervision. Real-time feedback on grip, angle, depth and technique. You leave having performed real injections, not having watched a demonstration.

On Completion

CPD certificate issued on the day. B12 injection protocol reference guide, consultation documentation templates and aftercare guidance provided. Post-course support from Laura as you set up your B12 injection service.
