Who Is This Course For?
-
Practitioners who hold foundation dermal filler training and actively inject lips with real clinical confidence, not practitioners who have completed a foundation course but rarely treat
-
Injectors who are already comfortable with lip anatomy, HA filler product handling, and hyaluronidase emergency dissolving; these are assumed, not taught here from scratch.
-
Those who have been asked by clients for Russian lips and want to deliver the result properly before offering it commercially
-
Practitioners whose current lip results are good at volume but lack the vertical definition and flat-profile characteristic clients specifically request when they ask for Russian lips.
-
Advanced injectors who want to add the Baby Russian technique alongside the full Russian protocol, understanding both and when to use each
If you have completed only foundation filler training and have limited active injecting experience, this masterclass is not your next step. Build your lip filler caseload first, then return.
This is a specialist course for experienced lip injectors only. It is not a foundation or intermediate course.

What This Course Covers
1. Why Russian Lips Require a Different Clinical Approach
Standard lip filler creates outward projection, whereas the Russian technique produces vertical height with a flat profile — requiring a different depth, angle and product than standard lip filler.
2. Lip Anatomy at Russian Technique Depth
Filler is placed at the vermilion border, at the base of the orbicularis oris, through vertical microboluses that draw the lip upward. This same technique also creates the appearance of a shorter philtrum without directly treating it.
3. Product Selection - Rheology Matters More Here Than Anywhere
A high G-prime, high-cohesivity HA filler is required to maintain vertical lift and prevent horizontal spread — standard soft fillers do not work for this technique.
4. The Full Russian Lip Technique
This covers vertical microbolus mapping (Cupid's bow/M-shape for the upper lip, V-curve for the lower lip), as well as the "Baby Russian" version — a subtler option for smaller lips or first-time clients.
5. Dissolving Russian Lips - A Different Protocol
Dissolving Russian lips requires precise hyaluronidase placement at the vermilion border, rather than broad injection, before considering re-treatment.
6. Managing Asymmetry and Adapting Mid-Treatment
Pre-treatment assessment and mid-treatment adaptation are essential — observing and adjusting bolus by bolus is a key skill in this technique.
7. Complication Recognition and Prevention
This covers the recognition, prevention and management of migration, vascular occlusion, Tyndall effect, and the "duck lip" outcome.
On the Day - Masterclass Format
One focused, high-intensity training day. Small group — maximum four practitioners to ensure every delegate has meaningful live model time.
Morning - Anatomy, Product Science and Technique
Orbicularis oris anatomy at Russian technique depth, philtrum mechanics, filler rheology and product selection criteria, full Russian and Baby Russian injection mapping, asymmetry assessment, mid-treatment adaptation, dissolving protocol, complication prevention. Interactive throughout real cases, before-and-after analysis, common technique errors reviewed and corrected.
Afternoon - Live Model Practice
Every delegate performs Russian lip treatment on live models under Laura's direct supervision. This is not a demonstration course. You inject and Laura provides real-time clinical feedback on mapping, bolus placement, depth, volume per point and mid-treatment assessment. Multiple models where format allows. You leave having performed real Russian lip treatments, with the clinical feedback to refine your technique from day one.
On Completion
CPD certificate on the day. Injection mapping reference guide, product selection criteria checklist, Baby Russian vs full Russian selection framework, and dissolving protocol reference provided. Post-course clinical support from Laura as you begin offering Russian lips in your practice.
